If you knew how many philosophers have thought about the “Movement and rest” issue, it would seem endless. One thing you need to know is that this combination is an inevitable heavenly principle. And there is movement in rest and vice versa – rest in movement!

Today we will demonstrate this ancient Tibetan system for healing and rejuvenating the body.

The exercises from it are similar to those taught in yoga, but the methods offered here are much more accessible to Western civilisation. They are even more influential and useful for physical and spiritual health. The “Five Tibetans” or “The Five Rituals of Youth and Vitality” is a system of elementary exercises that fill you with energy, originating from the Himalayas. They are said to have been transferred to our western world in the early 20th century by a British officer who mastered them at a Buddhist monastery in Tibet. Real story or legend!? The origin information is contradictory, and no source can confirm exactly when this system was developed. One thing is for sure – this is more ancient knowledge from the treasure house of our ancestors that has reached us over the millennia.

Peter Kelder, they say, was the first to write in 1939 about the Tibetan secrets of the fountain of youth. More recently Christopher Kilham and his book “The Five Tibetans” bring us back to the secrets of health and youth.

Rejuvenation, smoothing of the skin, even darkening of white hair, improvement of memory and vision, relief of arthritis, inexhaustible energy, weight loss, pain relief, excellent health – these are part of the effects of Tibetan rituals. They actually help to strengthen muscles and joints, improve flexibility and overall tone, but the real benefit of them is in healing and harmonising the energy in the body – harmonising the speed of rotation of individual chakras.


Tibetz No. 1  Take the Star Posture with your feet and arms spaced apart at shoulder height. Imagine the energy entering the palm facing up, passing through the body, and going out through the palm facing down. You can choose intuitively which palm to turn. You will feel hot the energy coming from above, and the cold energy that you bring back to Earth. Extend your arms sideways horizontally with your palms facing up and down, respectively.

Then rotate at your own speed clockwise. Choose an item in the room to focus on or focus on the thumb of the leading (right) hand to avoid dizziness. Breathe in a controlled and conscious way. After the last spin is complete, inhale deeply, hold your breath, and exhale sharply and forcefully until you empty your lungs. Gather your palms in front of the heart chakra (as a prayer).

The vortices from this exercise most strongly affect the knees, genital center, liver, spleen, thyroid gland, pituitary gland and pineal gland, accelerating all chakras.

Tibetz No. 2  Lie on your back with legs extended, arms extended along hips and palms facing down. In a coordinated motion, exhale through the mouth and tighten the lower abdomen (towards the genitals), lift both legs and head at the same time. Knees are straight; legs bent when feet are raised above the head. The chin should be pressed against the chest. The pelvis remains attached to the floor. Inhale deeply and slowly place your head and feet on the floor. Repeat up to 21 times. This exercise serves to stimulate the throat and sexual centre.

Complete Tibetz No.2 with the Conscious Breathing Exercise – 3 reps (Shiva-Shakti Mudra):

  1. Stand with your legs open – shoulder-width apart. Your knees are slightly bent and the back straight. Take a deep breath as you move your arms up along your waist with palms facing up. Imagine how you draw energy from Earth.
  2. Exhale by pushing your arms straight forward at shoulder height: Delivering energy
  3. Inhale deeply by lifting your arms sideways (hands point 10 and 2 hours on the dial)
  4. Exhale slowly as your hands go down into two large arches. The palms are down. The hands below are crossed in front of the genitals (do not touch the hands!).

Tibetz No. 3 Kneel on the floor with your hands propped at the back of your hips with your back straight. Step on your toes to stimulate the pineal and pituitary reflex points.

Exhale through your mouth and press your chin against your chest without bending over your waist. Keep your lower abdominal muscles tight. (helps if you tighten the muscles of the cervix)

By inhaling through the nose, lean back as far as you can, relaxing your head and loosening your muscles. Repeat up to 21 times.

This exercise stimulates the sexual centre to full activation. If you feel dizzy at first, keep your eyes open until you become accustomed to the flow of energy. Once you get used to it, do it with your eyes closed.

Tibetz No. 4  This exercise may seem difficult at first, but with a little practice, you will find that it is really simple and powerful to stimulate the energy centres of the throat and knees, as well as the sexual chakra. (And it also tightens the muscles of your thighs and cervix)

Sit on the floor with your legs stretched forward. Place your hands on the floor next to your pelvis. Exhale through the mouth, tuck your chin into your chest and flex your lower abdominal muscles (and cervix) Inhale, relax your muscles and lift your pelvis forward and up as high as possible so that your back is horizontal. The head is lowered back. Exhale as you return to the starting position. Repeat up to 21 times, then do 3 times Shiva-Shakti Mudra.

Tibetz No. 5  This exercise is well known to yoga practitioners. It stimulates the brain, throat and sexual centre. It improves the flexibility of the spine, stretches the muscles along the spine, strengthens the arms and abdominal muscles. As you lie on your belly, place your hands on the floor, shoulder-width apart, fingers pointing forward, and push your body to a cobra position. The pelvis is down, the back is curved. The head is also bent back, eyes looking up. The weight rests on the hands and toes.

Exhale through the mouth, bring the pelvis straight up so that the body takes the shape of the letter “L”. The chin is pressed against the chest; the abdominal muscles are tight.  Inhale through the nose, relax the muscles and return to the starting position. Repeat up to 21 times and continue straight to the final part of the exercise, which is to stretch the spine to allow energy to rise vertically.

Afterwards lie on your back on the floor, inhale, raise your arms above your head and slowly stretch them back. Hold your breath by stretching your arms up and your toes down as much as possible. Stretch your spine. Exhale as you relax your legs and raise your arms to cover your face. Repeat three times.

Tibetz No. 6  This exercise is mentioned as a “by the way” in addition to the main five exercises. Tibetans have recommended it to those who take a vow of celibacy so that they can control, harness and release sexual energy that would otherwise accumulate in the body and create a bunch of energy blockages. The sixth ritual aims to redirect the excess sexual and reproductive energy generated by the activity of the first chakra (at the base of the spine) to the upper chakras – especially the chakra between the eyebrows and the chakra at the top of the head whose activity is connected with spiritual awareness and some psychic abilities. This exercise should only be performed when you feel excess sexual energy. Otherwise, it will cause more harm than good by draining the energy of the first chakra.

Take a stand-up position; steps are shoulder-width apart. Take air through the nose, inhaling for a long time, until you feel your lungs are inflated to the maximum. Then breathe all the air out of your lungs. Support yourself on your knees as you try to exhale more. Stand with your hands propped on your waist without inhaling. Hold for as long as possible. When forced to breathe in, inhale through

the nose. When your lungs are full, exhale through your mouth and lower your arms naturally to the side of your body. Then inhale through your nose and exhale deeply through your mouth several times.

Three repetitions are usually sufficient.

With the desire and perseverance with these exercises, you will improve the energy balance of your body, regulate the functions of a large part of your organs and systems.
